BCYSA UPDATE TO COVID-19 MEASURES: 3/14/2020
As new information has continued to roll out, we have updated our plans for Spring Soccer.
While Soccer is NOT cancelled, it IS DELAYED. We initially planned on starting the season on March 21st – however, with over 1000 players in the league, this would cause significant crowds every weekend and Social Distancing would be impossible. Therefore, current plans are to have our first game on April 18th.
Online schedules will be updated by Wednesday, as we are continuing to wait for information on other park activities and how they will impact BCYSA playing later in the season.
PRACTICES ARE CANCELLED for this week, and we will update everyone next Saturday (3/21) as to whether practices can resume the next week. Practices are much smaller, so there is less concern about crowds – but please, if your child is sick, do not send them to practice.
I want to thank everyone for their flexibility and openness during this time! Our specialty is soccer, not pandemics, so this has decision has been reached through consultation with not only Boone County Parks, but with the Health Department and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
As a side benefit, maybe this will give us a chance to bypass some rainy weather? We can only hope!
